Medicare and Medigap help in St. Petersburg, Florida

Pinellas County is one of Florida's most densely populated counties and has a large share of residents on Medicare. Many St. Petersburg retirees review coverage every fall because plan networks, drug lists and costs can change year to year. We help residents make that annual review by phone or video.

Reading your Annual Notice of Change

Each fall, Advantage and Part D members receive an Annual Notice of Change. Compare it with your doctors and prescriptions before December 7 so changes do not surprise you in January.

Hurricane season and coverage

Know how to reach your plan, refill prescriptions early and get care if you evacuate. Emergency care is covered nationwide under Medicare rules.

Medicare Supplement (Medigap) in St. Petersburg

In Florida, your six-month Medigap Open Enrollment Period starts when you are 65 and enrolled in Part B. Medigap works nationwide with Original Medicare, which matters for seasonal residents.

Medicare Advantage and Part D in Pinellas County

Medicare Advantage and Part D plans are offered by county service area, so options in St. Petersburg can differ from neighboring counties. The 2027 Annual Enrollment Period runs October 15 through December 7, 2026; your Initial Enrollment Period around age 65 is separate.

Help with costs

If your income and resources are limited, Florida Medicaid, Medicare Savings Programs or Extra Help with Part D may apply. Eligibility is decided by the state or Social Security, not by an agent.
