Medicare and Medicare Supplement help in Pennsylvania
Pennsylvania beneficiaries choose between Original Medicare, often with a Medicare Supplement (Medigap) and Part D, or a Medicare Advantage plan offered in their county. The state also runs PACE and PACENET, prescription assistance programs for older residents that can work alongside Part D. Rolando Gutierrez of RGI Group is licensed in Pennsylvania and helps residents compare options by phone or video, in English or Spanish.
Two main paths in Pennsylvania
Original Medicare works with providers nationwide that accept Medicare, and many people add Medigap and a Part D plan. Medicare Advantage plans combine coverage through a network tied to your county. Options differ between Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and rural counties.
PACE and PACENET prescription help
Pennsylvania's PACE and PACENET programs help eligible residents 65 and older with prescription costs and coordinate with Part D. Eligibility is based on income limits set by the state, and the program decides who qualifies.
Medical Assistance and Medicare
People with both Medicare and Pennsylvania Medical Assistance may have plans designed for dual-eligible members. The Department of Human Services decides Medical Assistance eligibility, not an agent.
